Bungo Stray Dogs WAN! 2 Confirms July 2026 Premiere With New Visual

The second season of Bungo Stray Dogs WAN! has officially confirmed its premiere window. The chibi-style spin-off of the popular Bungo Stray Dogs franchise is set to return in July 2026, bringing back the chaotic, adorable and comedic side of the Armed Detective Agency and the Port Mafia.

The announcement also came with a new promotional visual, giving fans another look at the super-deformed versions of the beloved characters. Unlike the main series, which focuses heavily on supernatural battles, mystery and dramatic conflicts, Bungo Stray Dogs WAN! takes a lighter approach, turning familiar faces into the stars of short, funny and everyday situations.

The Main Staff Returns

The new season will once again be produced by Bones and Nomad, the same studios behind the first season. Satonobu Kikuchi returns as director, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handling the series composition and Hiromi Daimi returning for character designs.

The returning voice cast includes:

  • Yuto Uemura as Atsushi Nakajima
  • Mamoru Miyano as Osamu Dazai
  • Yoshimasa Hosoya as Doppo Kunikida
  • Sumire Morohoshi as Kyoka Izumi
  • Kensho Ono as Ryunosuke Akutagawa
  • Kisho Taniyama as Chuuya Nakahara

What Is Bungo Stray Dogs WAN! About?

Bungo Stray Dogs WAN! is based on the official spin-off manga by Kanaineko. Instead of following the darker and more intense storyline of the main series, the spin-off reimagines the characters in a smaller, cuter format, placing them in humorous slice-of-life situations.

That contrast is exactly what makes the series charming. Fans get to see characters who are usually involved in dangerous missions and emotional confrontations dealing with much sillier problems, often with exaggerated reactions and playful interactions.

A Fun Return for Fans of the Franchise

The first season of Bungo Stray Dogs WAN! aired in 2021 and was well received by fans who wanted a more relaxed way to enjoy the characters. With the second season now scheduled for July 2026, the spin-off is ready to bring back that same energy, mixing comedy, fan service and lighthearted moments.

For longtime fans of Bungo Stray Dogs, this return works as a fun companion piece to the main anime. It may not carry the same dramatic weight, but it gives the characters more room to simply be funny, strange and unexpectedly adorable.

At the moment, a specific premiere date has not yet been announced, but Bungo Stray Dogs WAN! 2 is officially set for the July 2026 anime season.
