The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is expanding beyond its original game format, with official announcements confirming both a manga adaptation and a stage play.
The news was revealed during the game’s first anniversary event, bringing new details about how the story will continue in different formats.
Manga Adaptation Already in Development
The manga version of The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy will feature story supervision by Tsukueni and artwork by Ejou.
The series is scheduled to begin publication between late 2026 and early 2027, and will be released through Square Enix’s Manga UP! platform.
A first illustration was also shared, giving an early look at how the characters and setting will be adapted into manga format.
Stage Play Announced With Limited Performances
In addition to the manga, a stage play adaptation has also been confirmed.
The theatrical production will run as a limited series of performances between August 8 and August 16 in Japan.
The play will adapt selected story routes from the original game, which is known for its branching narrative and multiple endings.
One version of the play will feature an original ending created specifically for the stage adaptation, offering a different perspective compared to the game.
Stage Play Staff and Cast Details
The stage play will be directed by Lion Kako, with scripts written by a team composed of:
- Aoi Tsukimori
- Chiaki Nonosu
- Ao Aizawa
- Ei Hasaka
- Yuki Shirakawa
The protagonist Takumi Sumino will be portrayed by Shin Tamura.
It was also confirmed that special ticket holders will receive an exclusive novel focused on Darumi Amemiya, featuring events that take place before the story of the game.

The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is a strategy game developed by Too Kyo Games in collaboration with Media.Vision.
The story is written by Kazutaka Kodaka, known for Danganronpa, with overall supervision by Kotaro Uchikoshi, recognized for the Zero Escape series.
The game stands out for its branching narrative structure, offering multiple story paths that lead to a total of 101 different endings.
Story Overview
The story follows Takumi Sumino, an ordinary teenager living in a residential complex in Tokyo, where life appears completely normal.
Everything changes when mysterious monsters suddenly attack the city, throwing the world into chaos.
During the crisis, Takumi encounters a strange being called Sirei, who offers him the power to protect the people he cares about.
To gain that power, he must stab himself in the chest, an act that leads him to a completely different reality.
He wakes up at the Last Defense Academy, a remote school surrounded by supernatural flames, where he and 14 other students are recruited into a special defense unit.
Their mission is to protect the school for 100 days, facing constant threats while questioning how far they are willing to go to reclaim their normal lives.
The story builds around survival, sacrifice and the consequences of the choices each character makes during this period.
