Diablo Immortal Celebrates 4th Anniversary With Free Rewards, Boss Battles, and Returning Chaos Events

Diablo Immortal is officially celebrating its fourth anniversary, and Blizzard is going all out with a massive new event packed with free rewards, returning modes, PvP chaos, boss battles, and system improvements.

The new update launches globally by tomorrow, kicking off a multi-week celebration called Fourfold Revival.

And honestly, this might end up being one of the most content-heavy anniversary events the game has received so far.

Fourfold Revival Event Begins June 1

The main anniversary event officially starts on June 1 and runs through June 18.

As part of the celebration, every player can immediately claim a free Warlock-themed portal frame.

But that’s only the beginning.

The Fourfold Revival update introduces several special anniversary activities, including:

  • Trial of True Evils
  • Fourth Chime Phantom Gallery
  • Legendary Gem Trial
  • Set Gear Reforging event

Additional bonus events like Mirrored Jewels and Winds of Fortune will also activate starting on June 10.

Fight Diablo And Other Major Bosses

One of the biggest highlights of the anniversary update is the new Trial of True Evils challenge mode.

Players will face four major bosses throughout the event:

  • Diablo
  • Iphael
  • Vitaath
  • Saarodan

Each boss unlocks gradually over the course of the celebration before culminating in back-to-back encounters closer to the event finale.

Blizzard says every fight scales to player power, ensuring the encounters remain challenging regardless of progression level.

Completing these battles rewards players with:

  • Hellbinder Butchie Familiar transmog
  • Legendary Crests
  • Random Legendary gear
  • Set gear rewards

Legendary Gem Trial Lets Players Test Builds

The anniversary update also introduces a surprisingly useful feature for experimentation.

The new Legendary Gem Trial allows players to temporarily test Rank 5 Legendary Gems for up to one hour of total playtime.

This gives players the opportunity to experiment with builds and determine which gems best complement their playstyle before investing resources into acquiring them permanently.

For many players, this might quietly become one of the best quality-of-life additions in the update.

Chaos Convoy Returns

Blizzard is also bringing back one of Diablo Immortal’s most chaotic PvP modes.

Chaos Convoy returns tomorrow with updated rewards, balance adjustments, and matchmaking improvements.

The mode adds randomized “Gifts of Corvus” modifiers during Battleground matches.

Players select new effects every minute, creating wildly unpredictable matches where builds constantly evolve mid-fight.

With more than 100 possible modifiers available, Blizzard says no two matches should feel the same.

And honestly, the mode remains one of the few PvP activities in Diablo Immortal that fully embraces pure insanity instead of strict competitive balance.

Bout of Realms Cross-Server PvP Returns

The Bout of Realms PvP competition also returns tomorrow.

Like the previous edition, the event will feature cross-server competition, though not cross-region matchmaking.

The finals are scheduled for mid-June.

Blizzard also confirmed that Bout of Realms is expected to return more frequently moving forward.

New Battle Pass And System Improvements

The update also launches the new Delayed Pain Battle Pass covering Seasons 53 through 55.

The featured cosmetic gear set includes aggressive flame and spike-inspired visuals that lean heavily into Diablo’s darker aesthetic.

Outside the anniversary content itself, Blizzard is implementing additional improvements including:

  • Target Gem filter improvements
  • Class balance adjustments
  • Reward structure changes
  • Matchmaking updates

Full patch notes are already available for players who want a detailed breakdown of every system tweak included in the anniversary patch.

Diablo Immortal Continues Expanding

Despite its controversial launch years ago, Diablo Immortal continues receiving large-scale updates at a surprisingly aggressive pace.

The fourth anniversary event makes it clear Blizzard still sees the mobile ARPG as a major long-term live-service project.

And between the new boss gauntlets, PvP events, build experimentation systems, and constant seasonal support, Diablo Immortal arguably has more ongoing content cadence than some full premium RPGs on the market right now.
