The Dropout Idol Fruit Tart manga has officially concluded its serialization, bringing the long-running idol comedy series to an end.
Created by Sou Hamayumiba, the series first began serialization in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Carat magazine in 2015 and became well known for its blend of idol comedy, slice-of-life storytelling, and energetic character interactions.
The story follows Ino Sakura, a young girl who moves to Tokyo hoping to become an idol. After arriving, she joins the struggling idol unit Fruit Tart, a group formed by girls living in the same dormitory while trying to save their residence from being shut down.
Throughout its run, Dropout Idol Fruit Tart developed a dedicated fanbase thanks to its colorful cast, comedic tone, music-focused storylines, and lighthearted approach to the idol genre.
The manga later received an anime adaptation produced by feel., which aired in 2020 and introduced the series to a wider international audience.
The final chapter marks the conclusion of more than a decade of the Fruit Tart members’ journey as the series officially closes out its serialization history.
Additional details regarding final collected volumes and commemorative projects are expected to be announced later.
