The upcoming anime film Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend has revealed a brand-new memorial visual highlighting Ikumi Akagi ahead of the movie’s Japanese premiere later this year.
The illustration continues the series of commemorative visuals being released for the film, this time placing the spotlight on Ikumi Akagi, one of the characters connected to the emotional developments of the franchise’s later story arcs.
The visual presents Ikumi in a calm and reflective atmosphere, matching the emotional tone that the Rascal Does Not Dream series has become known for throughout both its television anime and film adaptations.
Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend serves as the latest anime film in the franchise based on the light novel series written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keji Mizoguchi.
The film continues following Sakuta Azusagawa and the various supernatural phenomena tied to “Adolescence Syndrome,” a mysterious condition that manifests through emotional struggles and personal conflicts affecting different characters.
CloverWorks returns to animate the movie, with Soichi Masui directing and Masahiro Yokotani handling the screenplay composition. The main cast from previous entries in the series is also returning.
The movie is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters on October 16, 2026.
