Sparks of Tomorrow Gets U.S. Premiere at Anime Expo

Anime Expo confirmed that attendees will be able to watch the U.S. premiere of the first two episodes of Sparks of Tomorrow on July 3 at 10:00 a.m. inside the JW Marriott Platinum Ballroom.

The anime adapts Hiro Yūki’s novel 20 Seiki Denki Mokuroku and officially premieres in Japan on July 5.

The series will air on Tokyo MX, BS11, ABC TV, and TV Aichi, while Netflix will exclusively stream the anime worldwide beginning the same day.

What Is Sparks of Tomorrow About?

The story takes place during the summer of 1907 in Kyoto during the Meiji era.

It follows 15-year-old Inako Momokawa, the daughter of a sake brewer who constantly struggles to meet expectations. Her life begins changing after she meets Kihachi Sakamoto, a rebellious young man fascinated by the coming age of electricity.
