Elden Ring: Distant Tales Between Manga Returns After 3-Month Hiatus

Fans of Elden Ring finally have new manga content to dive into.

Haruichi’s comedy manga Elden Ring: Distant Tales Between officially resumed serialization after a three-month hiatus. The series returned with its 12th chapter on Kadokawa’s Comic Hu website.

The manga had paused publication back in January while creator Haruichi conducted additional research for the series.

A Different Side of the Lands Between

Unlike the dark and often brutal tone of the original game, Distant Tales Between focuses on lighter and more comedic stories involving the world’s supporting characters.

The manga explores alternate scenarios and slice-of-life moments featuring familiar faces from the Lands Between.

According to Yen Press, which licenses the manga in English, the series asks questions such as:

What if Roderika became friends with everyone at the Roundtable Hold?

What if the Blackguard searched for new delicacies beyond prawns?

What did Rya’s younger years look like?

The result is a much more relaxed and character-focused interpretation of the Elden Ring universe while still maintaining the world’s recognizable atmosphere.

Haruichi Continues Expanding the Franchise

Haruichi originally launched the manga in July 2024.

The creator is already known for working on several high-profile adaptations and projects, including manga tied to Star Wars: Visions and Leia, Princess of Alderaan.

The return of the series comes at a time when the Elden Ring franchise continues expanding far beyond the original game.

Elden Ring Remains a Massive Success

Since its release in February 2022, Elden Ring has become one of the most successful action RPGs of the modern era.

Developed by FromSoftware and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki in collaboration with author George R. R. Martin, the game sold over 12 million copies within weeks of launch.

The title also surpassed Call of Duty: Vanguard in U.S. sales rankings shortly after release.

The expansion Shadow of the Erdtree, released in June 2024, continued that momentum by selling more than 5 million copies within just three days.

More Elden Ring Projects Are on the Way

The franchise continues growing with several new projects already announced.

A Nintendo Switch 2 version titled Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition is currently planned for 2026 after being delayed from its original 2025 release window.

The new edition will include the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion alongside additional armor sets and new customization options for Torrent.

On top of that, a live-action Hollywood adaptation of Elden Ring is also in development and currently scheduled to premiere on March 3, 2028.

With the manga officially back and multiple projects expanding the universe, it’s clear that the Lands Between still has plenty of stories left to tell.
