EVE Online players barely had time to process all the announcements from this year’s Fanfest before Fenris Creations moved on to the next one.
The studio has already officially confirmed the dates for Fanfest 2027, which will once again take place in Reykjavik, Iceland.
The event is scheduled to run from May 13 through May 15, 2027.
Fenris Creations Will Celebrate 30 Years
Fanfest 2027 will carry additional importance for the studio because the event is expected to celebrate 30 years of Fenris Creations, the company formerly known worldwide as CCP Games.
The developer has become one of the most recognizable names in MMORPG history thanks to EVE Online’s long-running sandbox universe and player-driven economy.
Even after more than two decades online, EVE continues expanding with major updates, large-scale wars, and new projects connected to the New Eden universe.
Early Tickets Are Already On Sale
In true EVE Online fashion, the company wasted absolutely no time opening ticket sales.
Fenris Creations has already begun offering early-wave tickets for the 2027 event despite the convention still being roughly a year away.
Fanfest remains one of the most community-focused MMO events in the industry, regularly bringing together developers, alliance leaders, streamers, and longtime capsuleers from across the world.
For many EVE players, the gathering has become almost as important as the game itself.
Cradle of War Features Already Entering Testing
Alongside the Fanfest announcement, new testing activity has already started for features connected to the upcoming Cradle of War expansion.
One of the expansion’s major additions, the new Military Campaigns system, recently received its first public test on EVE Online’s Singularity test server.
The feature is designed to create more structured empire conflicts while giving players clearer progression paths inside military operations.
Fenris Creations has not yet confirmed whether additional public testing phases are planned before launch.
EVE Continues Expanding Beyond Traditional MMO Systems
The recent Fanfest announcements made it increasingly clear that Fenris wants EVE Online to evolve far beyond its classic sandbox structure.
Systems like Military Campaigns, faction-driven objectives, persistent progression, and tighter integration with projects like EVE Vanguard suggest the studio is trying to modernize the EVE ecosystem while still preserving its player-driven identity.
At the same time, the company appears heavily focused on strengthening long-term engagement through persistent world systems rather than temporary seasonal content.
Fanfest Remains One of Gaming’s Most Unique MMO Events
Unlike most gaming conventions, Fanfest has always maintained a very different atmosphere compared to traditional industry showcases.
The event often feels closer to a gathering of political factions, corporations, and war veterans than a normal gaming expo.
That unique culture is part of why EVE Online has survived for so long while many MMORPGs from the same era disappeared entirely.
And based on how quickly Fenris Creations is already preparing for 2027, it’s clear the studio has no intention of slowing down anytime soon.
