The Eccentric Doctor of the Moon Flower Kingdom Anime Officially Announced With Teaser Trailer

The fantasy medical drama The Eccentric Doctor of the Moon Flower Kingdom has officially received an anime adaptation announcement. Alongside the reveal, a teaser trailer and the first details about the main cast and production staff were also unveiled.

Based on the manga by Tohru Himuka, the series blends fantasy, medicine, political intrigue, and romance in a historical-inspired setting. The story has gained a loyal following since its serialization began in 2018.

The anime stars:

  • Akari Kito as Koyo
  • Kaito Ishikawa as Keiun
  • Takeo Otsuka as Shingdam

The adaptation is being produced by studio Typhoon Graphics, with Junichi Yamamoto serving as director. The series composition is handled by Seishi Minakami, while character designs are being created by Kazuya Hirata.

The newly released teaser trailer offers a first look at the anime’s atmosphere, highlighting the story’s mix of traditional medicine, royal conflict, and emotional drama.

The Eccentric Doctor of the Moon Flower Kingdom follows Koyo, an eccentric but highly skilled doctor whose medical abilities begin attracting attention after she saves lives in a kingdom where illnesses are often treated through rituals rather than science. As her reputation grows, she becomes increasingly involved with Prince Keiun and the dangerous political struggles surrounding the royal court.

The original manga, known in Japan as Gekkakoku Kiiden, continues serialization in Kadokawa’s Asuka magazine and has released multiple collected volumes.

At the time of the announcement, a premiere date for the anime had not yet been confirmed.
