Kaiju No. 8 Short Anime Narumi’s Week at Work Reveals New Visual Ahead of Late 2026 Release

The Kaiju No. 8 franchise has revealed a brand-new visual for its upcoming short anime project titled Narumi’s Week at Work.

The newly released artwork places the spotlight on Gen Narumi, one of the most popular characters in the series, while teasing the lighter and more comedic tone of the upcoming short-form anime.

Unlike the main series, which focuses heavily on large-scale kaiju battles and military action, Narumi’s Week at Work will explore the daily life of Gen Narumi outside major combat situations, offering fans a closer look at his personality, routines, and interactions with other members of the Defense Force.

The project is expected to blend comedy, slice-of-life moments, and character-focused storytelling while expanding on aspects of Narumi that are rarely shown during the intense events of the main storyline.

Gen Narumi became one of the franchise’s standout characters thanks to his overwhelming combat abilities, eccentric personality, and reputation as the strongest anti-kaiju fighter in Japan.

Based on the manga by Naoya Matsumoto, Kaiju No. 8 follows Kafka Hibino, a man who unexpectedly gains the power to transform into a kaiju while pursuing his dream of joining the Defense Force and protecting humanity from giant monsters.

The anime adaptation produced by Production I.G has become one of the most successful modern action anime series, helping further expand the popularity of the franchise worldwide.

Narumi’s Week at Work is scheduled to premiere during the fourth quarter of 2026.
